Undergraduate BA or BS

BA or BS - Which Degree is Right for You?

The Bachelor of Science degree emphasizes lab work and independent research. This degree is recommended for those intending to pursue graduate school, pharmacy school, or forensics work.

The Bachelor of Arts degree, with less required lab work, emphasizes a broad education and provides a bit more flexibility than the Bachelor of Science degree. The Bachelor of Arts degree is recommended for those intending to enter law school or earn a teaching certificate.

Both the BA and BS degrees have proved to be excellent pre-med degrees.

All students graduating from the College of Arts and Sciences must complete Achievement Centered Education (ACE) requirements. For specific information regarding which courses satisfy the various requirements, please visit the Undergraduate Bulletin.
