Waters HPLC with Refractive Index Detector

One of the newest additions to the UIC is a Waters HPLC with a UV detector. This UV detector can be set for absorbance at any wavelength between 180-420 nm. It is attached to a Waters 610E pump, which can be programmed for gradient elution but typically only a single mobile phase concentration is used.
Samples are injected onto the column using a Shimadzu SIL-9A autosampler.
Data acquisition and analysis is performed using Perkin Elmer's Turbochrom software.
This HPLC system, the Waters Refractive Index instrument, and the TurboChrom software were donated by ConAgra Foods in Omaha, NE. Many thanks to them allowing the UIC to provide students with the type of modern instrument that they may encounter in industry!
