Lectureships and Awards Hamilton Awards

The Hamilton Award is given each year by the UNL Chemistry Department in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field or organic chemistry.  The award is named after Cliff S. Hamilton who served as chairman of the chemistry department from 1939-1955.  His research helped develop compounds used in treating syphilis and malaria.   Hamilton Hall, the current chemistry building is named after him.
